Some very talented South Korean engineers are trialling an AI medical robot.
Thats a great use of tech – especially in remote regions, on long distance voyages (space) or assisting during emergencies when medical staff are stretched to the limit (plus no way for a medical robot to sneeze and transmit any contagion between patients)
For more than a decade remote operating machines have been used to allow skilled human surgeons to perform surgery from thousands of kilometres away (or even the other side of the planet) without having to be there in person (any movement by the human surgeon is exactly replicated by the remote operating machine)
And optometrists now use computer software to perform many surgeries.
Have long admired the technical skill of the great engineers producing MRI scans etc.
Blood pressure is automatically done by machines mostly now.
Think would personally still want a human standing by observing a medical robot with any injections etc.
Perhaps an injecting machine is a good idea – just line people up and they get a vaccine jab – like cattle prods.
Know many humans and children that dread doctors visits – perhaps discussing things with a robot easier for some (and simply reboot the medical robot after every visit and wipe its memory – privacy assured – or have own personal family medical robot kept in the cupboard only switch it on when required is kind of a cool idea)
Is it cruel to keep a robot or AI (or both) switched off and locked in a cupboard – not at all.
