The symbiotic connectedness of nature is mesmerising – a forest is not just plants it is an interwoven symphony of creation. 

After spending time in a forest we noticed that different species of birds sound the forest wake up call each morning dependent on the weather forecast (and perhaps some other things) – extraordinary – by simply noticing which species of birds sounded in the forest each morning we effortlessly knew the weather forecast for the day with accuracy. 

Kind of reminded me of French people politely nudging to learn our language if intend to be in this forest for much longer.

(we told you this morning it was going to rain this afternoon etc etc)

Learn to speak our language!

(most critter language goes over our dumb human heads have had several pets that used to humorously attempt to mime things because dumb human (me) didn’t speak very good critter – SETI seems futile if we cannot decipher the language of other sentient species already on this planet – critters are definitely communicating in very sophisticated ways that we often fail to comprehend.

Understanding the critter warnings for natural disasters could be useful – the scientist in me wants to know if birds in their natural environment, that can faultlessly navigate thousands of kilometres and have been on the planet since dinosaurs were around, are able to detect earthquakes before they occur – birds survived but dinosaurs did not.

Given current state of this planet it is possible birds will survive but humanity may not (without assistance) – am remaining optimistic.

Balance and harmony with nature brings great rewards.

(2 July 2023 – good to read some happy news

“This week Canada passed legislation to ban cosmetic testing on animals and the sale of cosmetics tested on animals.

A total of 44 countries including Israel, European Union, United Kingdom, Australia, South Korea, India, Guatemala, Columbia and several states in Brazil have passed laws banning cosmetic testing on animals. Additionally, 10 states in the US have banned the practice : New York, Virginia, California, Louisiana, New Jersey, Maine, Hawaii, Nevada, Illinois, and Maryland”
