A code of ethics for online software platforms really needs to be established by governments to protect user privacy and particularly how their online data is handled by tech corporations – similar to the telecommunications industry and the finance industry.

International data brokers are a real deal problem – especially location doxing (as an example there is no doubt my location was being handed to coal lobby twits every time updated this blog until some good engineers intervened a while ago etc)

Am amongst many simply not using any exploitative creepy corp platforms (fb etc) until safeguards for humans and ethical conduct is put in place.

Amongst other things ensuring content creators are paid a proportion of revenue earned from content posted to platforms is included in the definition of ethical conduct (and many good platforms do so)

Can be easily done and is long overdue.

(19 September 2023 – purely by coincidence this week Britain enacted legislation to protect people’s privacy online. Many European countries have similar legislation enacted or underway. That’s really great.

A few bureaucracies are yet to legislate privacy safeguards for people online despite petitioning from many human rights organisations)

(29 September 2023 – Gosh – others mentioned today that Biden’s state department has issued a new report stating that “China is manipulating global media through censorship and data harvesting” Gosh. Honestly. Anyone else censoring media and engaged in data harvesting and data brokering? Other countries are buying data off whom – who sells harvested data.

Censorship of differing viewpoints is fundamentally wrong.

(ignore this am neither involved in nor interested by some current absurd bureaucratic nonsense but gosh) Are mrna vaccines suitable for or required for children bureaucrat. How’s the budget deficit coming bureaucrat – perhaps simply increase the tax on data brokers. Due to coal use causing global warming people are suffering burns by simply falling to the ground during extreme heat in some states – any real action to decrease rather than increase destroying all life on earth coal use bureaucrat. How many new immigrants so far bureaucrat – one in every few hundred people living in the country have only been in the country for a few months and do those people have access to health insurance bureaucrat and if not that is likely to increase the incidence of what in the community. Are all males of a certain age (even conscientious objectors) still banned by Ukrainian bureaucrats from leaving Ukraine (and no Ukrainian male immigrants of a certain age allowed? Seriously?) Other than the absurd 34? killed announced a few days ago what’s the real casualty count on both sides for the war in Ukraine so far bureaucrat. Peace talks would be good!

Suppose it all depends on what consider as a vital action for national security.
