The enormous socio-economic gains from abundant low cost renewable electricity and manufacturing processes are already starting to be realised.

Solar panel manufacturing and installation employ significantly more people long term than the few hundred people employed in hazardous conditions at a coal mine.

As an example Australia’s first large scale green steel recycling plant is currently being built – melting and recycling steel using hydrogen not coal. Very cool. As another example a factory in Nelson Mandela Bay is currently being built to produce green ammonia – powered by a nearby solar farm and getting its water from a local desalination plant the project will permanently employ 20,000 people – currently producing ammonia accounts for around 1.8% global greenhouse emissions – green ammonia has zero negative emissions and is a useful biofuel.

Unlike temporary employment until the coal mine is empty – employment in renewables is permanent – hydrogen can be produced indefinitely.

Being able to step outside without feinting due to extreme heat is a useful bonus.

The green industrial revolution is bringing a boom in permanent job creation and manufacturing solar panels, biofuels, hydrogen, desalination, batteries etc means lots of manufacturing plants being built in country areas and money circulating in the local economy.

An exciting period for humanity filled with lots of opportunities!
